Happy Birthday Little Man!
You are growing up so fast. We are enjoying every second of everyday with you. You surprise us everyday with the things you are learning, how fast it is happening and how much you (along with us) are enjoying the journey. I can't believe you will be 1 in two months. However, you already seem like a little toddler. You are a special boy that is very happy, healthy, smart, strong and very, very loved from the bottom of our hearts! Don't ever forget that. Lets have another great month!
Messy Me.
Climbing over the sofa.
Get ready, here I come!

- Teeth. Has 4 teeth (2 top, 2 bottom), Left top tooth appeared - 7/1. He likes to bite if you let him.
- Walking. 1st steps - 7/1 to Mommy, Daddy and Grammie. Increasing the steps daily. 7/24 walking 10 feet at a time and attempting to walk all the time. Walking back & forth fast between sofa & table & to get places now. Standing & walking from a squat.
- Climbing (sofa, fireplace, stairs, in & out of bath tub & pool).
- Expresses his wants & needs & feelings (open mouth when fascinated or happy, mad if doesn’t get his way). Fiddles with his ear when he is tired or frustrated.
- Started Music at Heartsong. Now he has learned to clap his hands, beat on his leg to keep beat, dance, sing, rattle his shaker and bells, beat on drum when the music comes on, and make the Indian noise with his hand and mouth.
- Sharing his toys and things he has.
- Trying to wave.
- Being shy & hiding his face when embarrassed or meeting someone new.
- Putting objects inside another object and/or banging them together.
- Enjoyed the gym daycare, didn’t want to leave.
- Talking & understanding others. He babbles in gibberish as if he’s having conversations. He is understanding more than we think he is. When we tell him to put an block in his dump truck, he understand and does it. When we tell him no, he will look at us & cry if he doesn’t want to stop or test us to see if we really meant it. Saying truck & book (mama, yellow, dada, more, truck - 1st words).
- Using pincher fingers to pick small items up. His puffs, raisins, dirt.
- Messy, independent eater that loves bread & cottage cheese and will cry when he wants it. He still is eating The baby Kitchen Pods (1 breakfast with 2tbsp cereal/raisins/banana/muffin/pb, 3 for lunch & some bread, 4 for dinner with 2 tbsp cereal & cottage cheese) plus 2 snacks (fruit, puffs, magic pop, Ella pouch, yogurt, applesauce) and bites of what we are eating. He always gets it in his hair and all over his face. Likes to feed himself his own bottle during the day. It is a mess because he plays with it more than drinks it so Mommy ends up helping him. He is drinking his milk and water from his straw cup too. He enjoys learning how to feed himself with a spoon too.
- Mimicking us. We can show him something or tell him to do something and he starts mimicking us. Turning on the tv & mimicking us with the remote by pointing it at the Tv, doing downward dog while lifting one leg, wanting our cell phone/playing peekaboo farms, brushing his hair/teeth, throwing the ball for Benny.
- Loves playing in the water (hose, his stream, pool), sticking fingers in Daddy’s mouth and likes him to bite them, being outside & playing in the dirt & grass & rocks, driving Mommy & Daddy’s car, riding on his truck, swinging, going to the park, when Benny gives him kissses, watching the dogs fetch & throwing (dropping) the ball for them. He gets so excited he kicks his feet & makes the cutest excitement noise ever. He will cry if he doesn’t get to go outside or if he sees his truck & doesn’t get to drive it. Loves to be silly on the bed or the sofa by throwing himself around & screaming ah, ah, ah.
- Size. He is fitting into 3 diapers, most 9-12 or 12 months with some 6-9 months. We are on the verge of changing him to his big boy carseat. It is almost time to buy him some little size 4 shoes. We are waiting until he is walking outside in public first.
- Sleep. Still on 2 naps and sleeping about 11.5 hours at night from 6:30pm (he is ready for his bath at 6:20 on the dot, no later and gets excited for his bottle and bed) - 6 or 6:30 am. His naps vary from 1-1.5 hours for a total of about 2-2.5 hours total for naps.
