HBD 17 Months

At 17 Months, Dylan:
  • Increase of Lovey addiction.  Had to take lovey away except for naps & bedtime due to horrible rash around mouth from contact dermatitis since he rubs it in his face all the time.  Day 3 and still screaming for hours after his nap or around dinner for it.  Doesn’t want anything else or hard to distract.
  • Moved to his new room
  • Always says ‘yes’ to mostly everything and says no if really doesn’t want something.  ie. naps, leaving
  • Officially blowing bubbles and producing them in the tub or pool
  • Learning his ABCs and counting in both English & Spanish
  • Loving Lifetime
  • Waitlist - Nature Science Center Preschool
  • Teeth - Getting incisors, bottom right one first.  Number 13!
  • Playing Catch - tossing the ball & catching it.  Also, throwing frisbee.
  • Goes down slide by himself.
  • Playing independently with trains, shopping cart, reading books, etc.
  • Valentines Day #2, Trip to Port Aransas.
  • Sitting at his table & standing at big table - no more high chair.
  • Found out having a little brother.
  • Enjoying cuddle & book time before bed.  Favorite bedtime book is Love you, Goodnight.
  • Running in a full out run & fast at it!
  • Blowing kisses & bubbles.
  • Playing hide & seek.  Will run & hide, will come looking for you, saying Boo.
  • Riding in grocery cart car.
  • Favorite books - Wheels on the Bus & Whistle Train pop up books.
  • Took a bite of cookie at dinner at Chee Z and said “Awesome.”
  • Took the go pro camera and held it to his head and said “Cheese.”
  • 1st concert - Sesame Street Live.  Loved it!
  • Mr. Bear attachment at Eagle’s 1st birthday.  We ended up coming home with the white bear.
  • Loving his posse - doggie, monk, monk, baby, bear. Playing with them & talking to them at night, saying “ Love you, night night , yes, no, ah boo, hey hey what you say.”
  • Crying when you first leave him for naps & bedtime.  Realizing he does or doesn’t want to go to bed or naps & stalling...wanting water, milk, etc beforehand.
  • Said “I Love You Mama” on way down to Port Aransas.
  • Starting to make phrases.  “Let’s See”, “Mama Hold”, “Shoe Off”, Mama Help.
  • Doesn’t like it if he isn’t getting your 100% attention. Leaving PF Changs and I was talking to Peepaw when Dylan goes “Mama” and I stopped, looked at him and he gave me a big, open kiss!
  • Able to do his puzzles by himself.  Loves the vehicles puzzle. Completed a different puzzle at Gorgeous Millies by himself too.
  • Loves being outside.  Wakes up & says ‘outside’ when you go get him up.
  • Into pushing toys: shopping cart, lawn mover, chairs around, his car.
  • Loves helping with meals.  Mama has to pull up a chair for him to help.
  • Using a spoon & fork successfully.

Cousins

We had a great time at the beach! Loved seeing uncle Troy, aunt Lauren and cousin Chase and staying with Peepaw, Babi and cousin Logan in the condo!

Thanks Peepaw for letting me help you build the dressers.

Mama had a hard time getting chase and I to look at the camera at the same time!!! Haha!

Look what happens when you send a kid to pick out their own ice cream and uncle Justin to supervise....they come back with the most expensive item..a banana split! Haha!! It looked so good little Dylan was trailing behind with spoon in hand, saying "bite, bite" and mama's mouth was watering! Thanks Logan for sharing with us!!  Dylan of course couldn't get enough.  After his bite, he wanted more, more and was getting mad that no one would pay attention to him to give him more!  Finally, we had to leave & get rid of the ice cream.  We were becoming Marble Slab Creamery Monsters!

Dinner was a lot of fun, with many laughs!!! Good times! ( the waiter and people around us probably though a little different..oops)

Monk Monk

Playing with Monk Monk.  I love showing him how to build legos.

Build like this.

 My Buddy.

 I LOVE Monk Monk.

Playing Train with Dada.  I learned how to attach them and push it into other rooms.

Eating & Enjoying my Oat - meal.

Yum, Yum.  95% success at the spoon.

Daddy

Special times for Daddy & Dylan at the beach! Daddy's Dad use to bring him down to Port A and they would have a blast together! Now, Daddy gets to show Dylan all the special moments he had with his Dad, share them with him and think of Dylan's Grandpa Lynn! Special moments and great memories are to come!

Friends

We had a chilly but great week/day meeting up with some friends!

Ducks, slide, and friends = fun!!!

Look, I can do the slide all by myself now! I'm a big boy!

Melting mamas heart

Dylan melted my heart today on the way down to the beach. He was napping in his carseat and after he woke I heard, "mama, I love you!". I couldn't believe my ears! I had to ask Justin a couple of times to be sure I heard him right!! So sweet, made me want to cry! I love my little boy (soon to be boys).

One happy mama! Thanks Dylan for making my year!

Sunshine

Great day to be outside!

Mama and dada's mini me: protein bar and water bottle snacking outside!

Hanging with doggie.

Helping dada pick up doggie poo poos.

Finding sticks for Sadie.

Stuffed friends

I love my friends, both real and stuffed!!! I surprised mama with all my friends in my hand when she came to get me from my nap. Only one that wouldn't fit was doggie.

Everyone loves when I wake up in a good mood from my nap! Why not push all my friends in my cart? It's fun and I wanted to continue the party I was having in my crib.

Ducks!

We fed the ducks tortillas today with our friends! We all had a blast, can't wait to go again!

So many ducks!

Lawn service

We have a great lawn guy if you need one!!

Yogurt face!

Yep, he eats the whole fage yogurt tub with the fruit topping. Yum yum!

Way to go Daddy

Supporting Daddy and our friends for the Austin half marathon! Dylan enjoyed seeing all the runners and the helicopter flying in circles above! He would say "runners" and "helicopter" while we looked for daddy! Go dad. Way to go Justin and Geoff for 2:01! And Mariel and Zac! You guys did great!
