Bday Surf

THANK GOD for making this hurricane going south of us!!!!
It turned from a storm to a Cat 4 and 5!
We had gusts of wind but again, so grateful we are in the spot we are in!!!

Surf and wind are howling!

Dylan's wish, we shall grant!

These teens! They love to surf more than Mom and Dad now, haha!

Little sayings for those turning 16.
The world is full of good people....if you can't find one....Be one!

Hatchlings

Hudson and I have started volunteering for the Hawaii Wildlife Fund with the Honus.
I surf and say good morning to them daily. They have a special place in my heart. What better way than to get involved in the organization that does. We are happy to be a part of it.

We are doing dawn patrol and nest watches at our daily morning beach and were invited to watch the excavation of the nest when it was past time for the hatchlings to emerge.

What a special time!! They are so cute and so fragile, so grateful for this
organization to help the species survive. 1 in 1,000 green sea turtles will make it to maturity!!! 1 in 5,000 of hawksbills. No wonder they are endangered!!!

Time to dig to find the hatchlings.

They were trapped.

They dig them out.

Count and place in the bucket.

So tiny.

43.

There is the sun.

Counting the eggs to be sure they were all recovered.

Yep count matches. 1 didn't' make it to full development.

Time to let them go. They spend their first 24-48 hours swimming to see.

How deep the nest is.

They will not return to land for their first 10-20 years!

Much respect for these guys.

We see green sea turtles daily and hope to see the hawksbill someday.

2026 School Yr

Another year of school.
By age and public school:
Dylan is a Sophomore and Hudson is a Freshman.
Per our homeschool and online program, Dylan can graduate possibly 2027 and
Hudson is a Junior but can't graduate until he is 16, 2028. We will have to stall him.
They are getting the credentials and spending lots of time on projects, excited to see the year progress.

Impossible to get a serious pic.
Senior year per our homeschool.

Stoked.

Silly.

Homeschool 11th grade per our school and online Acellus pacing.

Let's do this.

H Scuba Cert

Hudson got scuba certified.
His goal is to dive with the sharks in the Ocean Center's tank.
Then, someday dive with beluga whales and basking sharks.
Proud of him for completing this training in order to get to his goal.
Now we are all certified and hope we can all dive together.

Skill training.

Ready to dive.

Off they go.

Mom!

Stoked.

Gearing up.

Good morning.

Off again.

 Last dive.

Padi certified.

Video Shared

Our video of our Idaho Rafting Trip:

Salmon River - until we meet again...A Hui Hou.

It is so neat that the company encourages you to keep up with each other
and share photos and videos with the group.....so....

Some pics that have been shared with the group.

Sun protection. Scratch on the nose??? How?? Unknown. Hmm..

Love this guide!! Her attitude and laugh was contagious.

Kraken was the coolest Solitude mascot!
Nice shirt btw....Aloha gear for his party shirt ;)

Camp.

Having fun.

Best way to eat!

Hand washing before lunch.
Genius to get everyone to wash their hands to keep from people spreading germs if they were sick.

Camp Survey...our tent neighbor took this.

The stars.

Waterfall that we climbed through the rocks, out the middle and then jumped off the rock.
Another VERY, VERY fun and WOW moment.

Love this.

Camp set up.

The gear boat...impressive!

Chilling in the hot tub! It WAS so HOT!

Super hot.

Waterfall.....my favorite!!

Our big night dry bags set out for us at camp.
