Independence

Independence.  I gave them my credit card and a budget to spend on food at the Kuau Mart.
They walked by themselves! Letting go, yikes!

A big day Justin was out at Hookipa, Dylan surprised us all with going out with one of his friends.
It was HUGE and we are so proud of him for being brave!

I can't believe Dylan is out there.

Keep an eye out.

Big Day.

Dylan and his friend coming in.

You did it!

So proud.

He couldn't believe it. Way to go on being Brave.

Lights

We did it!
I have been wanting to decorate a tree at Hookipa now for a few years and we finally did it this morning!

Tricky with the wind so we had to tie everything on good.
Santa's helpers.

Our tree.

We had some extra lights so we put them up at the pavilion.

Thanksgiving

 Happy Thanksgiving!
A day of gratitude for Food, Family, Health, Our Life, Kittens, Animals, Surf, Maui, Our Home, Happiness and more!!  So much to be grateful for!

Cheers!

Santa's helpers get busy the day after Thanksgiving.

Our gratitude table cards.  We each make our own and share at the table over our food.

I feel sooooo lazy.  Fun evening hanging out with Justin and the kittens while the boys play games.

Dylan has been wanting to make Dango, Japanese dumplings.  So, we finally got the ingredients.

Making breakfast.  Vegan bacon and eggs.

They like the pillows I made.

Little rascals.

Hudson code

Hudson has been coding with AI too.  This is an update from his teacher after one of his sessions.  Nice work Hudson!

 Hi hi!

Today we had a nice, chill session. We debugged and troubleshot movement and sprite implementation. Here's our changelog:

And a short video of the awesome implementation of the famous Jump & Roll.

Hudson, you're cruising. You're getting better at understanding the code, what each part does and how to modify them.

The codebase is starting to get complex, it's no longer a couple of simple functions, plus you have a lot of sprites and different types of movement, so it is far from easy to keep track of it all.

I don't have a ton of specific feedback other than what we've been talking about in sessions, but here are some points that I would focus on if I were you:
  • Understanding the code better: 100 days of code will help you a ton as you'll have to write it and fix bugs on your own! Keep doing it.
  • Refining your prompts: I know I'm being repetitive, but follow this pattern: Describe the latest changes you've made, Describe the behavior you're seeing, Describe the behavior you expect.
  • Keep building! The more you put yourself in front of Jippity on your own and go to battle with the bugs in your code, the faster you'll learn. You've already figured out how to go back to earlier versions of your code and you're not afraid to make mistakes.

As always, find me at recess or send me an email if you're stuck!

Super glad I get to build awesome games with you!

Quill

 Surprise!
Hudson wanted a quill pen to draw with.  So, I surprised them both with one.

Writing in Chinese.
"Dog, Swim, Keep Going" to motivate him to continue to work hard at his swimming for the dog he wants to get when he wins at States!

Inspired to draw.

Working hard.

Super into Greek Myths, Dungeons and Dragons, drawing and map making.

Drawing a map.

Hudson is back into drawing.

Sonic character, his favorite.

Ghost

Lucky is no longer going to be ridden by Hudson.  He now has rolled with Hudson in the saddle 4times! Hudson always jumps off but last time he almost tripped and we have decided no more!
Not sure why he only does it with Hudson. When we doubled the blankets he didn't do it.  We were told he doesn't need two blankets and it is because Hudson is too soft and doesn't kick or pull him up when he goes to do it.  Regardless, he was excited to ride Ghost Money.  Ghost is a new horse that we suggested his name since he has a money branded on him.  He LOVED him!

I like him.

Still loves Willie Nelson.

Just a hanging out.

Stoked.

This is where Lucky would roll.

Miss Pip was thirsty!
