We finally made it to Hana. We had some friends staying with us who wanted to go and Justin had been wanting us to go to 7 sacred pools so we decided to go. We went the back roads there then the windy way home. The boys were really good in the car and we wore them out on such a long hike that they slept the whole way home. It was nice to be in solitude for a while.
Our drive there. Nothing for a long way!
Miles of only road.
Beautiful.
Breath taking.
We made it. We were ready to hike.
Long way down.
Crossing the bridge.
Yikes, don't look down.
Ahhhh!!
Waterfall way down there.
Making mommy nervous.
Ok, lets keep walking.
Ahhh! Look at all the bamboo.
Heaven for boys.
We made it to bamboo.
I see you.
Stairs into the light.
Solid. Reminded us of the bamboo in Japan.
Peek a boo.
Check out this walkway. The boys were getting tired about 1.5 miles in so we almost made it to the falls but the park ranger said it wasn't really flowing since we have not been getting much rain anyway, so we decided to turn back so we could make it back to the bottom.
On our way down.
We made it almost to the falls...almost 1.8 miles, I would say 1.5 up, 1.5 down = 3 miles for these little guys. Then we went another .5 miles round trip to the pools. They were tired.
The 7 sacred pools were dry!! :(
Hana
I think Justin and I have this same picture from 2009, just missing the boys.
Lego time. Nice creation.
Woah!
Passed out!
I had to lean their seats back because the windy road was making their heads fall forward!
Stretch sleeping.
