HBDH 19 Months

Happy Birthday Hudson!
19 Months and couldn't get any cuter.  Thank goodness you are cute and Mommy's little baby.  I find myself savoring these months that you are still carryable, snuggable and wanting Mommy.  You have turned into a little boy over night!

Look close at the 19 in the sand.  He thought it was fun to mess it up.  Ha! Imagine that.

At 19 Months
  • Riding his Strider Bike
  • Swinging in the swing like a big boy going pretty high and on his belly
  • Wearing pull ups
  • Resisting bedtime and naps, little late owl and likes to sleep in
  • Waking at 3am to come snuggle in mommas bed
  • Giving kisses
  • Making little sentences: Bye bye Daddy, I reading, Hi Mommy
  • No Way - a favorite saying
  • Repeating every word and attempting to say it
  • Loves running in his nikes, all out runs
  • Sommersaults and does them off Dylan’s bed onto his
  • Reading himself books, doesn’t like you to read them
  • Pee poo awareness, tells us when he has to go (not always)
  • Beating up on Dylan - biting, hitting, pushing, takle
  • Likes to go to bed around 8 and would prefer to wake around 6-6:30 but gets woken up by D
  • Why?
  • Complete sommersaults
  • Running full speed, kicking his feet out to the sides
  • Jams and keeps the beat with his head, likes Michael Jackson
  • Coloring in the lines pretty good
  • Tantrums, saying no when he means yes but not knowing what he wants
  • Likes to wear his backpack around
  • Different than Dylan - rather stay up at night and sleep in in the morning, has rhythm, sensitive, strong willed, independent, likes to read his own books rather than you read them to him, stubborn, cute mannerisms (yea, waddle, smile), Loves his brother but likes to be the one in charge

Paradise

Good morning from our little spot in paradise.

We love it here! Excited to see grammie and Babi soon! Miss all of those that can't make it this time (gramps, etc). Hope everyone can visit soon! Miss everyone! Dylan keeps asking if gramps is coming :(

Observing whales video

Here is the footage we got on our second trip out.  We managed to capture some unbelievable whale behavior and mommy likes to watch the whales so daddy kept the video longer this time :)

Enjoy! Great video dad!!! Way to go!!

Makena

We have been fortunate to have daddy be off of work early since the close hasn't been very good lately. This allows us to leave early in the morning and go for adventures before nap time. Today we decided to go to fish bowl to to ake the kids snorkeling in makena (south side of the island about 1 hour away). Justin went with Noah while he was here and has been dying to take the boys. So, we packed up and headed out on adventure.

Packing their backpacks:

Don't forget your mask.

We have arrived and excited to see some fish!

It's similar to being on mars with all the lava rock but much more beautiful!

We took then out with the surf board and their lifejackets. Dylan was super excited and Hudson was scared at first. He hung in there and finally had a little fun. Didnt snorkel but hung out with mom then dad while mommy and Dylan looked at the fish. It was a little chaotic at first but then ended very successful! Yay. We stayed about an hour then moved on to another beach.

Makena state park is beautiful!!! Great sandy beach and perfect stop. Fish bowl is coral and lava rock and mainly for getting in the water and snorkeling. Water shoes would of been nice to have here since I tread a ton of water managing the kids. Ha!

Daddy took h in for a dip before Dylan.  This beach is amazing but the surf break is super dangerous so you have to get in and out quick and not play in the break. Lifeguards announcing it constantly. Must be a place where many people get hurt. I've been here before and their was not a lifeguard so that was new. Funny I have done some visualization on this beach and seen myself living in hawaii. Great reunion trip to a heart touching beach.

Dad took Dylan out to snorkel around on the boogie board.

Mr slater just hanging out.

Hi handsome!

Boogie board didnt last long. He ended up wanting to swim around.

Look close and you can barely see dad and Dylan.

Mr 19 months!

Sunbathing. Watching the boys behind him boogie board.

Way to go D! Mr. brave!

Caught them sitting like this.

Observing whales

Another day out with Ian, Marty and Janet to observe the whales and swim around. We had another successful trip and had a blast! Dylan jumped in and watch the boys dive around, swam around with mom and we saw a turtle. Then he went swimming with Marty and dad along the rocks and snorkeled looking at the fish. He didnt use a snorkel but he did look at the fish wearing his googles. Big milestone for the Edwards boys! Daddy is so excited to have a swimming/snorkel buddy!

Copilot. Ian got some googles and a phantom. One happy kid!

Here we go. Here whales, here whales!

See anything? The whales we going off so we hurried to try to get to them. Flapping their side fin and splash with their tails and heads!

So beautiful. Looking at the flying fish.

Wind turbines.

See anything?

Marty fish! Diving deep. 45 feet.

Daddy fish. Diving down.

Dylan jumped in! Go Dylan. One brave boy! His first real ocean swim. It is so breath taking so I am so proud of Dylan!

Copilot Hudson out like a light from the rocking of the boat. Captain Ian taking us to a coarse air underwater but wasn't clear enough to see.

To market and more

We finally made it to the farmers market in pukalani this sat morning since we were headed to poli poli to fly remote control toys with Ian and Marty afterwards. Great market and our favorite was getting a coconut water. Dylan was in aw watching coconut willie use the machete to cut them open. These guys were maybe 18-20? Great job for some extra money...climb the trees and cut them open. We got his number to come climb our trees :) we drank the water and took it back so they could open then to get the jelly out. Learned that coconut water is a old Tahiti trick used for pygiums (sp) the little bump I have in my eye! So I bought a some for my eye. Trying it out!!

Someone was tired!!

So spoiled!

Woah trickster!

Cheese. Dad the camel.

We got invited to Kyle a guy from Austin's keg bday party! Ha. Been a while since we have been to a kegger! He was turning 26. Feeling a little old ;) Beth and Mike (some other friends we have met with twin 2yr old girl and boy) went too. They are on the same scheudle as us so went to eat at colleens for dinner afterwards.
Hudson playing with viola. He loves the girls! He was pushing her baby stroller with her dolls saying baby when we went to their house earlier in the day. He is gonna be a great daddy like Justin!

Hanging with Noah at the party.

One cool dude. He rather wear his hat turned around or to the side. Always adjust it. So funny.

Got some balloons!

Playing with viola at dinner.

These two! Tub time is so fun for them.

Is it hard to read like this dad?

Hudson thinks bedtime is playtime!

Good boy, sitting there!

Rolling the backpack.

He likes to swing in his tummy in addition to the bootie.

And d likes to go super high!
