School Celebration

We celebrated Dylan's birthday at school. I took a picture of each year of life and they made a timeline at school. The class song a song about the Earth going around the Sun each year and telling about each birthday (how he was as a baby, 1st year milestone of walking and talking, 2nd year of Hudson, 3rd year of school at Nature Center, moving to Maui and starting Waldorf, 4th year of buying a house in Paia, starting Montessori and what is next for 5th year?. So special. Dylan wore a birthday crown he made at school and gave the classroom Barefoot Critters book. They will get to read it all year and probably save it for many years to come. We got to share lunch with him and a special treat we brought to share with our friends. He requested Chocolate Blueberry cake so Mommy and Grammie made cookies. Yummy! They were a hit. What a great celebration.

Just what he wanted! He had gotten into our closet and spotted his gift so he knew it was coming but didn't know when. Glad we waited until the end of the day, he was surprised.

Happy 5th Birthday Dylan

Happy Birthday Dylan! I can't believe you are 5, where does the time go?

All he wanted for his birthday was a paw patrol party at home with a few friends.

Wish granted. What a great party!

We started the morning off with some gifts from Mom and Dad (things he could wear) and then off to Colleens for a birthday breakfast bagel and a gift from Babi. Back home he opened his Legos from Grammie and Gramps and then they played while we prepped for his party. His friends joined us to celebrate from 10-12 and we had a blast. Food, friends, games, water balloons, cake, toys and gifts. Good times. After the party, they had some down time and more play time with the gifts from his friends. Later on he got his Nijangos Legos he wanted from Mom, Dad and Hudson. That kept us busy building while we grilled some yummy dinner and had more cake. What a great day!

Thanks Dylan for the amazing 5 years! Cheers to many more. I love watching you grow and change daily. Keep being a sweet, loving boy.
