A south swell came in and Justin's friend sent him this picture. Guess what we did the next day! We went out to film it since it was getting bigger. We got up and headed out for an adventure with Hudson. Thank goodness we only had one kid with us. It was a hike to get to see these waves but totally worth it! La Peruse Bay is on the south side of the island where a ton of lava fields are. We call it the moon!
The pictures make it really hard to tell how big the waves really are.
30 foot faces! The surfers took some poundings and said the waves were really heavy! I can NOT imagine!! There was a 10 year old boy and his dad pushing him into the waves!!! Ty Simpson, he is famous at 10 for surfing big waves. Crazy and incredible. Ekolu that Justin was surfing took a tumble and then came in. He wanted to go again but knew it was time to quit. He got work really bad and the rip current and white wash made it a challenge for them to get to shore. I can't believe people do that! Insane.
Justin had a hard time keeping up with the surfers but I think the video turned out great.
