Homeschool 2022 to 2023

 School has started!
2022-2023
My focus: SCHOOL and staying simple, detox tech, rest and relax more, reduce anxiety with less is more.

Year Goals:

  • 8-1 school schedule with freetime for boredom, individual rest/space, nature, and creativity

  • Keep open schedule/limited classes/activities/driving to limit stress/overwhelm 

  • Keep technology balance for learning tools and keep at a limit, detox going

  • Focus on academics - writing, math, reading daily & history, science, specials supplements

  • Boost academic confidence - reading, writing, math speed and study habit skills

  • Focus on concepts, independent work, corrections, focus/concentration, goals, time management, responsibility/accountability, neat/organize/hard quality work, good effort, positive attitude, kindness self/others, teamwork, gratitude, creativity, self esteem, positive socialization/influences, best self daily, write/math/read daily

  • Goal and active fun learning - skills, interests, creative, year, month, week

  • Keep up with our family mission, expectations, goals and inappropriate behavior

  • Conclude the year with confident evaluations, assessments, and standardized tests

  • Bring Dylan to 7th/Hudson to 6th by May

  • Motivate to change frustration of challenges into a love of learning

  • Reminder - overwhelmed = make todo list and break down into manageable plan, do , check, reflect.  Ask - How help, What Need, How Can I get help to help them?, never done, don't give up, try again, something different

  • Dylan - improve: math, measuring speed, decimals, penmanship, focusing, loves: reading chapter books and series, work on: spelling, robotics, electronics, build things, code a game, build a robot, learn algebra, making decisions, giving opinions, concentrating, math speed, summarizing, complex books, good handwriting/cursive, day trader and electronic engineer

  • Hudson - improve: science together, mental math, typing, writing, loves: math, graphs, maps, division, electronics, figuring how things work, help: emotions, coding, following directions, science, penmanship, write a book, learn geometry, draw/code a game, air traffic controller - meteorology, maps, complex screens, recording info

  • More time learning - use workbooks/books/supplements for core subject standards, write questions, research concepts with books/online for explanations, draw/summarize, practice with supplements and specials projects, classes, subscriptions, resources, challenges and other supplements for goals, interests, gratitude, skills, independence, and creative to improve and apply to real life, test knowledge

  • Independence: Follow direction, Try figure out on own multiple times without giving up, attempt, then ask for help

  • Review: Review work and schedule at the end of week, month, year & adapt, ask know more than when started, what better at, worked, didn’t work, and adapt
