Yesterday was a sad day when we realized we were missing 3 chickens!!
No feathers or signs of a predator getting them which is really strange. We last saw them all together at 7:30 Thursday night. They usually go back to their coop and then Justin goes to close the door. He went out there around 9:30 to close the door and only saw one but assumed they were laying in the nest box. He didn't have a light to check. Friday when he went to let them out, Blacky was the only one in there. We looked for them everywhere...our neighbors yards and down the hill (Justin went down into the creek bed). No where to be found. Thankfully, Blacky stayed! She is the nicest, most friendliest of them. So, guess what...
Went to get 2 new ones. We really enjoyed having them around and our yard feels lonely without them. Not to mention Blacky needs some friends.
Buff Orphingtons is the breed we got today. Super friendly and love being held!
Meet Goldie & Buffy.
Cheese face. Looks like he is squeezing the chicken.
He is so happy he can hold these.
He wanted to hold the other ones sooo bad but they wouldn't let him.
Showing the chicken the basketball.
Reminds me of myself when I was little playing with my kittens.
"Mamma hold too"
Funny Face.
Chicken Cheers.
